The Klimabrølet has united students, communities, businesses and politicians from different parties with the same goal: prevent Climate Change.
Part of our crew from Hostelling International attended to the event. In total, 30.000 people gathered together in central Oslo to help raise awareness on the Climate Change issues and what organisations and individuals can do to prevent its terrible consequences. It was moving to watch young students raising their posters with messages that conscious grown-ups could have written and see them engage in such an important movement.
Oslo’s mayor, Marianne Borgen also gave a speech to close the event and talked about some of the initiatives Oslo has been taking to help fight Climate Change, as well as why they were chosen to become the Green European Capital in 2019. The city actually hosts a busy agenda with events throughout the year showing their best practices and raising awareness for environmental related issues.
Other 20 cities across Norway also took part in the Klimabrølet event, making it the biggest Climate Change event in Norway this year.
